BOD (Manometric Respirometric Method)

Chemical

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) is the amount of oxygen consumed by microorganisms during the decomposition of organic matter.

The Respirometric Method using a manometric respirometer provides a direct measurement of the oxygen consumed in a closed vessel under constant agitation and temperature (20ºC). The manometric respirometer is able to relate the oxygen uptake by microorganisms to the change in pressure within the bottle.
